DWF advises Enfinity Global on photovoltaic projects

23 December 2020
DWF has advised Enfinity Global – an international platform for the development, implementation and management of renewable energy plants in Europe, Asia, Africa and the Americas – in reaching the first important milestone regarding a pipeline of photovoltaic plant projects in Italy, with a total capacity of over 400 MW.
The project, which is divided into around fifteen plants located in several Italian regions, represents Enfinity's first investment in Italy.

DWF assisted Enfinity Global in performing due diligence, defining the structure of the operation, preparing and negotiating agreements with developers and landowners, in the acquisition of the projects and preparing and submitting the permit applications.

DWF's assistance went from the earliest stages of the pipeline development until the first major milestone was reached in December with the filing of the Single Authorisation applications.

The DWF team was led by Michele Cicchetti, DWF's managing partner in Italy and Guglielmo Fabbricatore, head of the energy sector in Italy. They were assisted by Eleonora degli Abbati, senior associate, Emanuele Varenna for corporate, contractual and project acquisition profiles and Giulia Guidetti for regulatory and real estate profiles. Lidia Scantamburlo, partner in charge of the administrative law department, also supported on the transaction..

Tancredi Marino, partner in charge of the Tax department and Francesco Provenzano, counsel, handled the tax profiles of the transaction. Paola Mariani, counsel in the labour law department, took care of the implementation of Enfinity's operational structure in Italy.

DWF will continue to advise Enfinity in the development of this and other less advanced pipelines, aiming to achieve full constructability of the first facilities by the end of 2021.
