03 June 2021
DWF, the global provider of integrated legal and business services, has appointed two new Partners, EU Consumer product law specialist Nicole Coutrelis and Pierre-Nicolas Sanzey, Real Estate partner, to its growing Paris office.

Nicole Coutrelis joins DWF's Paris office from Coutrelis & Associates, a law firm Nicole and her husband founded. Nicole is recognised for her industry-leading expertise in EU food and consumer product law for both French and international clients, with extensive experience acting for large food and  agricultural businesses, having pleaded numerous cases before the EU Court of Justice in Competition, State Aid and Agriculture.

Nicole joins DWF's Global Consumer sector, led by Dominic Watkins, having previously practiced at the French Ministry of Agriculture and at the French Permanent Representation to the EU in Brussels as Attaché Agricole, as well as in the legal service of the EU Commission in the Competition team leading Agriculture cases, amongst others.

Nicole also brings industry-leading specialist experience in general EU Law matters, predominantly regarding free movement of goods, free establishment, and more generally the introduction of EU law in national laws, as well as of the intricacies between international multilateral laws and EU Law.

Pierre-Nicolas Sanzey also joins DWF in Paris as part of the Global Real Estate team led by Toby Askin, having established and led the Paris Real Estate practice at Stephenson Harwood. Pierre-Nicolas is renowned for his work advising both French and international real estate asset managers and investors on acquisitions and disposals, development projects and asset management - taking projects right through the acquisition and development cycle.

Pierre-Nicolas advises on projects across a range of sectors from retail, hospitality and offices to logistics and healthcare. Pierre-Nicolas also has extensive experience in joint venture agreements, development and project management contracts, commercial leases and design and build construction contracts.

He joins DWF's Real Estate partners operating across Europe in Italy, Ireland, Germany, Spain and Poland and throughout the UK.

Jean-François Mercadier, Managing Partner at DWF in Paris, commented, "I am delighted that Nicole and Pierre-Nicolas are joining DWF. They are both highly-renowned in their markets and will be outstanding additions to the business during a time of strong growth for DWF in France in the key sectors of the firm (Consumer, Energy & Natural resources, Financial services, Government & Public Sector, Insurance, Real Estate, Technology, Media and Communications, Transport).  Their appointments will help us to further enhance our Consumer and Real Estate offerings and bring a great combination of experience and expertise to clients."
