04 February 2021
DWF, the global legal business, has appointed Emmanuel Durand as partner in its sports and competition practice in France.

Emmanuel Durand has joined DWF in the Paris office, having previously been a partner at De Pardieu Brocas Maffei.

He specialises in competition law (anticompetitive practices, merger control and state aids) and commercial law. Emmanuel is also particularly well-recognised for his extensive expertise in sports and media law, advising clients including sports clubs, leagues and organising committees of major events on a wide range of topics, including, marketing, media, hospitality and naming rights. Beyond the sports sector, his client base is diversified, including large scale retailers, industrial companies and entertainment companies.

Jean-François Mercadier, Managing Partner of DWF in France commented, "I am delighted to welcome Emmanuel to DWF. His reputation around antitrust and within the sports industry precedes him and he brings a wealth of experience which will complete our offering on the French market, particularly in the post Brexit world. Emmanuel will be a great addition to the business during a time of strong growth for DWF in France."

Emmanuel Durand also commented, "I am very happy to join a firm as dynamic as DWF and to be able to bring new expertise to the Paris office, particularly given DWF's second-to-none experience in these areas of law and at an international level. I look forward to working with DWF during this time of impressive global growth for the business."
