James is an experienced corporate tax solicitor and chartered tax adviser. He specialises in share options, employee incentives and all tax aspects of private equity and M&A transactions.

James specialises in advising upon the tax and commercial aspects of employee incentives, and share options schemes including Long Term Incentive Plans and approved and unapproved share schemes. He has particular experience advising on and preparing such schemes for listed companies.

He has considerable experience advising on the tax aspects of private equity investments and mergers and acquisitions.

He also represents clients on investigations, enquiries and disputes with HM Revenue & Customs particularly in relation to employment taxes.

He is recommended by the Legal 500 and ranked in Chambers & Partners 2019.

He is a dual-qualified solicitor and member of the Chartered Institute of Taxation and advises clients ranging from small owner managed businesses to large publicly listed corporate entities.
