13 October 2023

DWF's innovative and groundbreaking work to tackle fraudsters and adverse behaviours pays off at the Insurance Post Claims and Fraud Awards 2023.

The DWF Counter Fraud team celebrated four award wins and high commendations in a further three categories, including:

  1. Claims Collaboration of the Year – Aviva and DWF for the trailblazing decision set in the Khan v Aviva case where the Judge agreed to allow similar fact evidence to be used to prove systemic rehabilitation layering.
  2.  Rising Star – Joe O'Gorman - for the extensive work that Joe has done – specifically on rehabilitation but generally in regards to intelligence and fraud investigations.
  3.  Unsung Hero of the Year – Joanne Baker – for her work in innovating services to tackle fraud and for her extensive work in dealing with adverse claims behaviours arising from the Reforms.
  4.  Insurance Claims Star of the Year – Craig Budworth – for Craig's drive to tackle Organised Fraud and assistance he has provided to clients over the Reforms.

Highly commended

  • Combatting Fraud Collaboration of the Year – Allianz and DWF – for the great work that Allianz / DWF have done in combatting the fraudulent Cavity Wall insulation claims.
  •  Fraud Intelligence Team of the Year – specifically focussing on the work that DWF has done on the growing trend of additional injuries / layering pursued by Claimant Solicitors and for establishing pioneering case decisions – Kerseviciene v Quadri.
