1. Please tell us a bit about yourself, your job and where in the world you work.
I’m Liz Cordonier and a senior litigation associate at Whitelaw Twining in Vancouver, Canada.2. What key industries/sectors do you work with?
I focus my work in our construction group doing both insurance-based and non-insurance construction litigation. I also assist clients with contract drafting and negotiation on construction projects. I have niche sports law practice that focuses on anti-doping and Safe Sport issues in Canada.3. What do you enjoy most about your job?
My favourite part of my job has always been the people that I work with. I also love that litigation is dynamic, particularly in the area of construction, and that law is a profession where you are required to continually learn and grow.4. What makes Whitelaw Twining Vancouver unique compared to other locations?
Having spent much of my twenties traveling and living abroad, I’ve found very few places that compare to Vancouver. The city is surrounded by ocean, mountains and rain forests. Depending on the time of year you can play beach volleyball and go skiing on the same day. There is also an amazing food scene here, especially if you like Asian cuisine.5. What piece of advice would you give to an early career professional looking to work in Vancouver?
Vancouver is an amazing place to live and work. It has a dynamic economy, and work-life balance is well-respected here as Vancouverites like to spend a lot of time outdoors.6. If a member of Link from another country was coming to visit you, where would you take them?
I would take them to our local mountains for a hike or ski and then for a swim in the ocean at Kits Beach. Then to Main Street for amazing food and craft beer. Another favourite spot is Granville Island for fresh seafood.7. If you could work anywhere else in the world where would it be?
