Events and initiatives DWF colleagues took part in for IWD 2026
The initiatives listed below were designed for, and open to, all colleagues to join and build greater awareness of gender equity in line with DWF’s commitment to UN Sustainable Development Goal #5 – Gender Equality.
Key event series
'In conversation with…' interview series: A series of Q&A webinars with diverse women from across the global DWF organisation created by 5 Star Futures including contributions from Claire Keat - Director of Operations for the Central Commercial Services; Jane Callan - Group Health, Safety & Environmental Manager; Daria Ciak - Staff Lawyer; Joanne Frew - Global Head of Employment & Pensions; and Verity Wilson - Solicitor.

Local events
- London: The Women in Construction twilight yoga session was designed to be suitable for all experience levels delivered a mindfulness and wellbeing focus along with an opportunity for relaxed networking and connection with women in construction.
- Manchester: DWF volunteers hosted an "Inspiring Girls" session involving twenty Year 7 students in collaboration with two clients.
- Edinburgh and Glasgow: Colleagues held a coffee morning focused on gender equity and encouraged clothing donations for local charities supporting who dress and coach those who are unemployed in preparation for job interviews, align with our commitment to UN Sustainable Development Goal #8 for Decent Work and Economic Growth.
- Liverpool: Jewels Chamberlain hosted a breakfast panel event with female leaders speaking about their life, law paths and career journeys including Sarah Mir, Emma Smith, and Rhea Batia. Colleagues also took part in informal networking and a walking tour exploring the city's vibrant history and the remarkable women who have helped shape the city’s character and spirit.
- Belfast: Colleagues attended and Julie Ann McCaffery spoke at the Law Society Northern Ireland International Women's Day event at Crumlin Jail on Women's Prison reforms. Belfast also held a round table event with a speaker from the SouthEastern Trust discussing Justice and Women from the Women's Prisons - 5 March. And DWF LINK Belfast hosted inspirational speaker Caroline Wilson, Co-Founder of Taste and Tour.
- Australia: Colleagues in Australia attended and sponsored a number of International Women's Day events across Brisbane, Newcastle, Sydney, and Melbourne
- Further out into Spring Female colleagues in Munich will be attending the Female Future Festival.
Virtual events
- DWF LINK, the future leaders programme, delivered an interactive webinar designed to help build skills and develop resilience in navigating workplace challenges with confidence.
- DWF's Menopause Group held a regular Coffee and Chat session, encouraging attendance from colleagues of all gender to learn more, normalise conversations, and build confidence on the topic of menopause.
- DWF's Men at Work Group held a special edition of their monthly Men's Mental Health Listening session focusing on understanding the menopause to explore the often-taboo subject in a safe space environment. This included a presentation for DWF Menopause Network Senior Lead Jewels Chamberlain and a peer discussion with DWF Partner Graham Dagnall.
Initiatives designed to create better gender balance in 2025/26 include:
- Sharing the experiences of diverse female role models during Social Mobility Awareness Day, South Asian Heritage Month, and World Menopause Day, National Work Life Week and ADHD Awareness Month.
- Improving DWF Family Friendly policies including additional paid leave for carers and bereavement.
- New standalone mandatory training on the Prevention and Sexual Harassment plus complementary modules on Inclusive Hiring, Wellbeing and Menopause Awareness.
- Public webinars on Being Menopause Inclusive, Menstruation and Productivity, Menopause and Fasting, and Using Inclusive Language.
- Lunch and Learn session with Working Families Network members on getting the most out of employee benefits.
- Listening sessions on topics such as Baby Loss and Miscarriage.
- Client collaboration on gender equity include events as our 'Carers and Careers' event with Hiscox and Social Mobility event featuring a Black female entrepreneur.
- Female colleagues sharing their personal experiences via personal blogs on topics like neurodiversity, women's health, mental health, Ramadan, climate action, sexual harassment, parenthood, grief, caring, LGBTQ+ allyship, social mobility, volunteering, food waste, etc.
- Female colleague coaching programme pilot launched.
- Men at Work Network continue to provide listening session and share resources with member including addressing gender equity.
- Reward platform used to acknowledge and reward ESG contributions with a focus on gender equality.
- Wellbeing roadshows held access the UK to promote support and benefits available to colleagues.
- Our DWF Foundation invested in programmes such as a charity supporting female survivors of modern slavery and human trafficking with employability skills and vocational placements.
