Our main areas of expertise within the Housing team are:
Affordable housing
We act for various providers of affordable housing and their regulator, the Homes and Communities Agency (soon to be renamed Homes England) and the Government's key delivery agency.
Private Rented Sector / Build to Rent
We act for various joint ventures and developers engaged in the private rented sector, a growing area of the market linked to demographic changes and an evolving perception of the benefits of home ownership vs renting.
Student accommodation
Now a growth asset class in its own right, we act for new entrants, established players and institutions on some of the most innovative deals in the market.
Major regeneration projects
As targets are imposed on local authorities to deliver housing, we have a great track record in guiding authorities through complicated procurement processes, state aid pitfalls and their powers. We are advising on a number of housing and development delivery vehicles and act for one of the most well established examples in the country.
Strategic land
We act for various developers and house builders looking to secure Options over land while they secure beneficial planning permissions.
