Experience
Kelvin advises on all aspects of work health and safety and employment law across a range of industries for both State Government and private clients. He has particular expertise in:
- Defending anti-discrimination claims, general protections claims and unfair dismissal/reinstatement applications in Courts and Tribunals
- Advising and managing discipline processes from beginning to end, including suspension, for State Government departments under the Public Sector Act 2022 (Qld) and private clients
- Advising on and drafting employment contracts and policies and procedures
- Managing flexible working arrangement requests
- Managing ill and injured employees
- Conducting workplace investigations and review of employee grievances
- Advising and prosecuting work health and safety breaches for Regulatory Authorities
- Defending work health and safety prosecutions
Prior to joining private practice, Kelvin was an Associate to an Industrial Commissioner of the Queensland Industrial Relations Commission.
