Jonathan Gaskell

Director, Edinburgh

Jonathan is a construction law expert with experience of a broad range of transactional and contentious matters.

Jonathan advises clients on all aspects of non-contentious law and practice - from initial contract procurement and tendering through drafting and negotiation of the full array of construction contracts to advising on related property and project development agreements and related contracts. He also advises on construction security documentation.

His experience and expertise extends to a wide range of sectors and premises in the built environment; these include retail units, shopping centres, hotels, office buildings, student accommodation, industrial premises as well as bridges, rail infrastructure, roads, power generation and water infrastructure.

Jonathan has comprehensive knowledge of industry standard building contracts such as the JCT and SBCC forms, and is also familiar with the NEC suite of agreements that increasingly is being used in UK public sector construction procurement. He also has extensive experience of the international FIDIC contracts.

Jonathan also has experience of statutory adjudication, litigation and arbitration.
