Howard has extensive trial experience across multiple jurisdictions, prosecuting and defending cases involving complex facts, multiple defendants, and challenging legal issues.
He has advised on sensitive, high-profile investigations, including homicide, terrorism, serious sexual offences, and intricate financial crimes. Howard has acted as lead lawyer for major sporting events and worked closely with law enforcement at ‘Gold’ group level, providing guidance on notable operations such as Operation Ternhill, Morguld (Flying Squad), Spire, Duke, and Nectar.
Howard is also known for his collaborative approach, delivering digital solutions, managing budgets for cost-effectiveness, and implementing strategic change and training within legal divisions. He has provided structured training to the Metropolitan Police and the States of Jersey Police and Customs on evidence and disclosure duties. Additionally, Howard has overseen large teams, supporting efficiency through digital transformation, and developed a regulatory practice advising and presenting cases for the HCPC, TRA, and NMC.
