Geoff has many years' experience in the commercial property sector including advising many global institutional investor clients, private equity investor funds, various household named banks and other niche lenders and debt platforms.
He is a very experienced Partner in the Commercial Real Estate team working with a large team principally based out of Glasgow, Edinburgh and London.
Geoff acts for a number of major global funds including Blackstone, M7 and Goldman Sachs and also works closely with other major UK equity investment clients, including Ambassador Holdings, Longbow, HKIP and Custodian. He prides himself on the breadth and depth of his varied client base which ranges from smaller private equity investors through to PLCs in the real estate market.
Geoff has gained a very strong reputation in the commercial property market over the years for being personable, pragmatic, approachable, extremely commercial and proactive. Historically, he worked in commercial and marketing management for Unilever and Smithkline Beecham and his previous non-legal experience greatly assists in the delivery of good commercial solutions in legal transactions.
His legal highlights include being involved in the funding for the acquisition of Edinburgh Airport along with leading the team on the Scottish jurisdictional elements of many other high profile cross border investment and funding transactions, a number of which have been in excess of £500m in value. Geoff and his large experienced team also deal with a considerable breadth and depth of real estate clients, including leading student accommodation provider Alumno Developments, HBD plc, the Swan Group and APV.
Geoff supports Partick Thistle Football Club and is a member of Crail Golfing Society, one of the oldest links golf clubs in the world.
