Emma’s experience in insurance spans acting for both local and international insurers, underwriting agencies and insureds at both international and national law firms.Primarily, Emma’s insurance experience has been honed in respect of both professional indemnity/financial lines for both claims defence and coverage advice and disputes, as well as general liability insurance claims and coverage.
Emma’s special interest area is complex professional indemnity disputes, where she is experienced in defending complex and multiparty claims, with a particular focus on defending building and construction professionals such as engineers, building designers and architects; property professionals such as valuers, real estate agents and town planners; and legal professionals, including solicitors and barristers.
Having spent time in highly regarded commercial litigation teams and acting for individuals has fostered a focus on commercial and cost-effective solutions in Emma’s approach to resolving disputes in an insurance context. Prior to joining DWF, Emma spent five years in an in-house insurance litigation team, providing low cost, high-quality legal services to an underwriting agency, its capacity providers, insureds and brokers. This experience was invaluable in cementing Emma’s dedication to customer service and cost-effective solutions to dispute resolution and her clients appreciate her determined and steadfast approach.
