Charlotte Kelly

Charlotte Kelly is a Partner in DWF's London Office. She specialises in international and domestic insurance and reinsurance litigation; often in the fields of Product Liability, Coverage, Property Litigation and Aviation.


Charlotte has substantial expertise in acting for national and international insurers and reinsurers and their insureds on all aspects of coverage disputes relating to product liability, property damage, engineering, construction disputes including contractors’ all risk and aviation.  
Charlotte handles complex product liability claims and has a well established product liability portfolio which typically falls into the areas of motor, engineering, aviation, medical devices and construction for clients based in the London market, Japan, the US, and Europe. Charlotte also handles claims arising from incidents causing major losses, including fire, explosion, flood, collapse, impact and machinery breakdown in multiple jurisdictions.

With regards to her aviation expertise, Charlotte's core area of expertise concerns resolving civil aviation liability disputes which arise out of fatal or near miss air accidents, but she is also regularly instructed in relation to contractual and coverage disputes and dealing with aviation product liability issues. Charlotte has most recently been involved in coverage disputes in Europe and in the UK, fatal accidents involving high profile historic aircraft, property damage claims caused by low flying aircraft and contractual disputes arising from hangarage and maintenance obligations.
