Experience
Charlie has considerable experience representing insurers and their policyholders, and self-insured corporates, in high value claims arising out of catastrophic incidents, contractual disputes and product liability claims, both pursuing subrogated recoveries, and defending liability claims, arising out of such incidents. He has experience of ADR and has successfully resolved a number of disputes at mediation.
Charlie is also regularly instructed to advise insurers as to coverage and indemnity issues arising from claims on policies covering such risks as motor, first party property damage, employers and public liability. He has particular experience in advising on the application of the Road Traffic Act and MIB Agreements with regard to motor coverage disputes, often with multi-million pound claims in the background.
Charlie also forms part of Commercial Insurance's Criminal Defence Team, advising insurers and their policyholders in the defence of motoring offence prosecutions, often arising from high profile collisions involving fatalities.
In April 2020, Charlie was elected onto the Council of the Insurance Institute of Liverpool as chair of the social committee.Memberships
