Consumer Sector in house legal roundtable series

Date: 11 November 2021, 14:00 - 15:00
Location: Online

This roundtable series provides a brilliant opportunity to join peers from the in-house legal profession to discuss the biggest changes, challenges and trends influencing the consumer sector right now, and how to manage the impact this may have on your business.

Event Details

Session 1: "More for Less" What in-house teams can learn from alternative legal service providers (and vice versa)?

Thursday 14 October 2021, 14:00-15:00 (BST)
Private practice has been pivoting the way they work for a while now in order to preserve their margins. When set up correctly, ALSPs can leverage technology and processes to complete compliance, contract management and legal analytic works, so in-house legal teams can focus on complex and strategic legal issues. Contracting with ALSPs can also improve in-house attrition whilst saving money. But what is the secret sauce and is the recipe too difficult to execute when internal resources are already stretched?

Craig Chaplin & Dominic Watkins

Session 2: A focus on plastic after COP26: Deposit Return Scheme and Plastic Packaging tax – are you ready?

Thursday 11 November 2021, 14:00-15:00 (GMT)
Single use plastic is subject to significant new regulation seeking to limit its use.  At this roundtable, consumer sector experts will lead a discussion on the circular economy, covering the introduction of the Deposit Return Scheme in Scotland and the commencement of the new plastic packaging tax in 2022 and exploring the challenges and opportunities this presents for business.

Caroline Colliston & Dominic Watkins

These will be fully interactive roundtable sessions, conducted virtually (over Microsoft Teams call) under the Chatham House Rule, to give you an opportunity to share your experiences, raise your concerns and ask questions, therefore places are limited. Joining details and a calendar invite will follow your RSVP.
