DWF leads by example and sustainable operations and practices are at the heart of our business.

This integrated approach helps drive better business decisions as we incorporate economic, environmental, and social performance into our reporting and performance metrics and promote our commitment towards sustainability into all aspects of business life.

Reports and publications

We publish a range of information in relation to our performance on ESG matters. We believe this drives accountability and help us constantly strive for best practice. Our reporting supports our commitment to transparent communication and is essential for our obligations under terms of the UN Global Compact.

UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDG's)

We use Business in the Community (BITC) Responsible Business Tracker to measure and evaluate our performance. Since 2016, we have been a signatory to the Ten Principles of the UN Global Compact on human rights, labour, environment and anti-corruption. They provide a blueprint for how a responsible, sustainable business operates and contribute to the delivery of the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDG's).

Our ways of working are the essentials that permeate our business and help take our ESG strategy and convert it into operational action.  As a purpose led business how we do business is just as important as what we do.

In a global context, rules governing business conduct can vary from region to region and country to country, but our values transcend these differences.

Within our business and across our supply chain we take a zero tolerance approach to;

  • Retaliation against anyone who speaks up and does the right thing


Our culture plays a significant part and treating each other with mutual respect and dignity is an expectation across our business. We have built an inclusive culture where different points of view can be expressed and respected and we work hard to protect this by empowering our employees to take action to make others feel included and challenge if behaviour fails to live up to our shared values. This approach is nurtured through our comprehensive Code of Conduct policies, training and communication across the business.

Identifying concerns

We are committed to maintaining an open culture with the highest standards of honesty and accountability.

Speak Up is an online and phone-based system provided by Convercent which allows every employee to raise a concern about a genuine suspicion of malpractice or wrongdoing within the DWF Group. It is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week in all languages.

Our Speak Up policy outlines the process to raise a concern about wrongdoing, safe in the knowledge that it will be investigated promptly and effectively.

Addressing Issues

Our Business Excellence team provides independent assurance across the business and actively manages any compliance concerns regarding bribery, corruption and fraud internally and externally.  DWF launched Business Excellence in July 2014 which has enabled us to develop best practice ways of working. We have established a network of Excellence Champions across the business with whom we work closely to minimise issues within the business and drive improvement.

Energy & environmental management

Discover our environmental and energy management approach for achieving our targets.
Energy & environmental management

Our environmental commitments are overseen by our board and include a visible determination to protect the environment and continually improve our environmental performance against the prevention of pollution.

Our focus is primarily on reducing our energy usage/CO2 emissions which we have committed to reduce in line with the Paris Agreement. We appreciate the value our people can provide in taking ownership and responsibility for ensuring that we all work together to minimise our environmental impact.

DWF supports the principles of sustainable development, and we have in place an environmental management system to identify and control the impacts of our business and enhance current working practices.
