David has a particular specialism handling costs disputes arising from complex and high-value, catastrophic personal-injury claims. He works closely with the Firm’s large-loss and other claims handling teams to advise clients upon the likely costs exposure throughout the substantive proceedings, guide clients through all aspects of costs budgeting process, as well as attending settlement meetings to negotiate costs.In the course of costs assessment proceedings he often advises in claims which exceed £1 million in value, involving various technical issues and points of law, and is known for having a keen attention to detail, combined with an ability to quickly cut-through to the main issues for clients with clear and straight-forward advice.
Outside of work, David enjoys road cycling and endurance sport and has competed in a range of events including ultra and regular distance marathons, criterium racing, triathlons and has also cycled in the French Alps.
