Emma Walker

Emma is a skilled and experienced commercial disputes and international arbitration specialist and advocate. Emma is Head of the Commercial Team at DWF Advocacy.

Emma joined DWF Advocacy in 2019, bringing expertise in complex commercial disputes, employment disputes and international arbitrations across a range of industry sectors - in particular commercial, investment treaty, construction, oil and gas, tax and maritime. 

She has acted in ICC, LCIA, DIFC-LCIA, UNCITRAL and SCC arbitrations and provided litigation advice on employment, corporate and tax matters. Emma has appeared both in tribunals and courts in England & Wales and Mauritius. Emma has also advised on international regulatory matters. 

Emma was called to the Bar in 2014. Emma graduated from King's College London with a 1st Class in LLB with Transnational Legal Studies (awarded Patricia de Souza and Jelf Medal). She also obtained a 1st Class in LLM (Commercial Law) from University of Cambridge (Jesus College, where she is an Elected Scholar). She obtained a Very Competent in her BPTC from City Law School. She was awarded the Queen Mother Scholarship (Major) and Hong Kong Scholarship (Overseas Placement) from Middle Temple. 

Emma has been elected onto The General Council of the Bar for a three-year term, and is Chair of the Employed Barristers' Committee. Emma has taught as a Visiting Lecturer at King's College London in both Contract Law, and Corporate, Finance and Security Law. 

Emma is currently instructed as junior counsel for one of the Core Participants in the Grenfell Tower Public Inquiry.
