Experience

Ben’s work has involved him in dealing with a broad spectrum of C & E claims ranging from civil infrastructure projects including bridge claims, soil stabilisation issues, electrical infrastructure to claims for hi-rise and waterproofing to third party property claims including removal and weakening of support claims.

He also works with the principal Ian McWalter on claims which demand a team approach, assisting in undertaking the detailed analysis these types of claims demand. This approach provides principals with a cost-effective outcome. Such claims often arise in relation to claims under the loss mitigation extension to PI policies and large contract works claims.

Ben has strong analytical skills to understand and apply the analysis required in respect to interpretation of policy wordings, as well as refining his communication skills through the process of negotiating a range of settlements.

He demonstrates a firm understanding of legal interpretation and possesses a strong analytical mind-set but also understands the need for tact and diplomacy when dealing with claimants, be it large corporate clients of residential builders.
