Andrew is a consultant in the Litigation & Arbitration team. He specialises in corporate governance, company law, including schemes of arrangement and capital reductions, and (acting for the data controller) disputes arising out of data protection legislation and information- and cyber-security breaches.

Experience

Andrew's work spans both commercial litigation and dispute management, and he also provides advice on the rights and responsibilities of directors and officers, shareholders and partners, and works in the fields of mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures and partnerships, equity capital markets, private equity and venture capital, and data protection and information security.

Andrew has over 30 years' experience specialising in company law, corporate governance and corporate transactions, including the rights and obligations of shareholders, directors, officers of institutions and bodies and partners. He regularly leads teams on major and complex issues and disputes. Andrew's work is often advisory and can involve being a member of a large corporate team, supporting clients and advisers during takeovers, mergers and reorganisations where applications to the court are involved. He has been involved in many transactions for public and large private companies of values of up to Ł1 billion, advising on structure and drafting the documentation for the scheme and court aspects.

Andrew as unrivalled experience leading the civil litigation legal teams acting for the defendant data controllers in the leading and seminal case of the Wm Morrison Payroll Information Group Litigation, the leading case concerning a mass data breach perpetrated by a rogue employee, and the British Airways Data Event Group Litigation.  The Morrisons case concerns the disclosure of the personal payroll data of 100,000 employees; the British Airways case concerns a cyber-attack affecting the personal data of several hundreds of thousands of customers.

Andrew acts for public and private companies, public bodies and educational institutions, professional partnerships and their shareholders, directors, officers and partners, and advises on all aspects of governance, rights and obligations. He has acted in a number of fraud investigations and cases and has executed and/or supervised, as a court appointed supervisor in around 20 search orders.
