Experience
James is qualified to practice in England and Wales (7 years PQE) with experience working across both domestic and international construction and infrastructure projects. James’ expertise extends to all standard-form contracts, including JCT, NEC, ICE and FIDIC, having worked with a large number of public sector bodies and private clients. James comes into DWF with significant experience in Building Safety and associated expertise, previously working with many clients in the social housing sector. James is also well-versed in assisting clients with Sustainability-centric matters, including Retrofitting works and the importance of adhering to ESG requirements. James is typically retained to advise on all aspects of construction law, including contract drafting, contract management, negotiation of contracts, settlement of issues and dispute resolution, including adjudication, mediation, expert determination, arbitration and formal litigation in the High Court.
James is currently working alongside a number of senior stakeholders within DWF in authoring the latest campaign in Thought Leadership for Retrofitting (and the wider aspects of Sustainability) across the UK and Ireland.
