03 February 2025

DWF, the global provider of integrated legal and business services, is pleased to provide an update on its insurance London market team hire from the Australian law firm, Hall & Wilcox.

DWF announced in November that it had reached an agreement for nine Hall & Wilcox partners to join the firm. Since then, discussions have continued with the partners' team members and DWF is now pleased to announce that this move will result in a total of 62 new colleagues joining its Australian insurance team.

The Hall & Wilcox team, which is led by Matt Curll and Rachael Arnold, is considered one of the leading insurance litigation practices in Australia. It has a highly complementary client base of global insurers and London market based insurance syndicates. The majority of the team join DWF today, 3 February. A number of team members having already joined the business and several more start later this month.

Matthew Doughty, CEO of DWF's Insurance Services division, said: "I am delighted to welcome all of our new colleagues in Australia. It is a key market for our insurance business and the arrival of this stellar team, combined with our recent acquisition of the leading claims management business Proclaim, demonstrates our commitment to strengthening our capabilities for the benefit of our clients in Australia, and globally."

Matt Dudakov, Managing Director of DWF in Australia, added: "This is an exciting time to join DWF in Australia. We have already driven dramatic growth in recent years, and these hires add further momentum to our success. We have more than doubled our headcount in the last six months alone as we respond to the needs of our clients and pursue our commitment to driving sustainable growth."

The majority of the team is based in Sydney, with colleagues also based in Brisbane, Newcastle and Melbourne.  DWF has around 2,000 people in its global Insurance Services division and is one of the world's leading providers of legal and business services to the insurance industry.
