Experience 

Stephanie has experience of various dispute resolution processes and has worked on disputes in the English High Court, Court of Appeal and Supreme Court.

  • Responsible for all litigation files of a firm client. This involves the day to day management of multiple cases, providing regular fee estimates, managing costs, assisting with the provision of client’s KPIs, and attending weekly meetings with key client contact to discuss portfolio. - Instructions include:
    - Defending claims from customers seeking payment for multiple heads of loss;
    - Seeking recovery of costs incurred repairing damage to assets or diverting assets;
    - Advising in respect of a claim for mistake and / or restitution and a challenge of the client’s scheme of charges; and
    - Providing advice on document retention obligations.
  • Advised client in relation to a software contract and defended against a potential claim in excess of £2million. Settlement was reached with a saving of 90% for client. - Representing an Insurer in respect of a claim involving their insured companies, who were defendants in a £500k claim. Successfully obtained a s.12 certificate of the Administration of Justice Act 1969 in order to make an application directly to the Supreme Court for permission to appeal a House of Lords decision.
  • Acted for shareholders in relation to a SPA with a company. Advised on issues relating to estoppel and non oral modification clauses.
  • Advised on two contracts with an entity whose parent company was a Russian entity that had been sanctioned following the Russian invasion of Ukraine. Successfully advised on termination of the two contracts in time sensitive circumstances.
  • Represented an interested party in an ongoing judicial review against the Secretary of State for Work and Pensions in relation to the lawfulness of third-party deductions made to benefits. The case involves close cooperation with the Government Legal Department on a common interest basis. 
  • Acted for a large manufacturer of holograms in a large Arbitration involving a breach of contract and fitness for purpose issues
  • Acted for an international client to enforce a domestic judgment including negotiating with multiple third parties to maximise recovery
