DWF won the award for its pioneering work in setting up a dedicated Somatic Illness Team focussing on claims that present as low value and whose value dramatically increases as the claim progresses, involving disproportionate legal costs/exposure to gross exaggeration/substantial layering and cost building to maximise claims.
DWF's multi-disciplinary team set up to tackle these claims consisted of specialist legal experts, underpinned by experts in predictive analytics who built a chronic pain early identification solution. DWF's trailblazing work in adopting a unique approach to these cases has saved insurers millions of pounds.
The Judges said "DWF's proactive management style saved insurance clients £18m in claims costs last year".
Nigel Teasdale, Partner/Commercial Director – DWF "This latest award for excellence from Insurance Times is a great reflection of the effort John and the team have put in to tackling one of the more challenging areas of injury claims. As is often the case, it is when technical expertise and technology combine that solutions are most effective".
John Lezemore, Partner/Head of the Somatic Illness Claims Team - "We, here in the DWF Somatic illness and Chronic Pain team are really thrilled to have won this award.
