Experience
Caroline provides niche expertise in handling social care debt recovery cases for local authorities as well as advising a variety of clients on employers', public and product liability insurance claims.
Caroline is actively involved in raising awareness of the problems local authorities face surrounding social care debt and has been called upon to speak at a number of conferences and publish articles on the subject. She has been instrumental in developing DWF Reclaim, a unique debt recovery service for local authorities focusing specifically on social care debt, and won a Law Firm Innovation Award in 2012 for her work on this.
In addition to her work on social care debt recovery, Caroline advises local authorities, retailers and their insurers on all aspects of employers', public and product liability. She successfully defended a local authority client in the reported case of Durrant v Thames Water and Surrey County Council (2009) and at first instance and on appeal in the reported case of Harris v Waitrose (2010).
