Experience

Paul McCrory is an accomplished insurance professional with over 15 years of experience managing complex claims portfolios across multiple lines of business. Currently serving as SPF Manager at DWF, Paul oversees the Special Purpose Fund (SPF), including the Assigned Risks Pool and Run-off Fund, on behalf of the Law Society of Ireland. He is responsible for managing professional indemnity claims against ceased solicitor practices, ensuring smooth transitions, implementing anti-abuse measures, and safeguarding public and solicitor interests. He holds delegated authority of €1.5 million.

Prior to this, Paul held senior claims roles at AmTrust Financial Services, where he managed high-value and complex claims—some exceeding €640 million—across construction, PI, property damage, and warranty lines. His remit included regulatory liaison, dispute resolution, and vendor audits across multiple jurisdictions.

Paul’s earlier roles include Claims Manager at Footprint Underwriting DAC and Claims Adjuster at IPB Insurance, where he led strategic claims initiatives, mentored new staff, and managed litigation-sensitive files for public sector clients. He began his insurance career at Liberty Mutual, handling personal injury and professional indemnity claims across Ireland and the UK.
