Experience
Lauren is an Associate in the Infrastructure, Construction & Energy Team in Belfast. She is a Y5+ PQE solicitor admitted to the roll of solicitors in Northern Ireland and England and Wales. Lauren provides contentious advices across a range of disciplines to corporate, public sector and private clients, including FTSE 100 companies and household brands. She specialises in the litigious and ADR aspects of construction disputes.Lauren has experience of all forms of dispute resolution including adjudication, arbitration, litigation and mediation. She also has experience of various forms of standard contract used in the UK, including JCT, ICE and NEC. This includes experience with PPP/PFI projects and bespoke framework agreements.
Lauren advises upon complex construction and engineering projects both in terms of providing early and on-going project support to assist in identifying and managing risk and/or entitlement, and providing strategic advice on preparing for and dealing with disputes as and when they do develop.

- Successfully acting on behalf and in defence of a major broadband provider in relation to multiple adjudications arising from polling contracts and allegations relating to breach of contract and repudiation.
- Acting for a subcontractor, who was successful in a series of adjudications which arose as a result of a payment dispute, in relation to the enforcement of the adjudicator decisions in the High Court of Justice in Northern Ireland.
- Successfully defending a major broadband provider in relation to Part 8 proceedings following a successful adjudicator's decision. Awarded full costs on an indemnity basis.
- Acting for a public sector body in relation to a complex and high value dispute arising out of a high profile, national infrastructure project.
- Advising a Developer in relation to a dispute relating to a contractor's alleged loss and expense and extensions of time under a JCT 2016.
- Acting for a public sector body in relation to a dispute arising from a national infrastructure project, providing advice on defects.
- Acting for a large local property developer in relation to disputes with the Contractor arising over termination and the final account.
