Experience

Elinor has vast experience of niche areas of commercial litigation, namely contentious procurement disputes (which since 2018 she regularly provides external training on) and Judicial Review; Elinor is seen as a ‘go to’ person in these areas. Her experience includes acting for an interested party, Oak National Academy, in an ongoing judicial review brought against the Secretary of State for Education and in numerous procurement disputes (including acting for various public authorities defending challenges and private companies bringing challenges).

Elinor also has significant experience of acting on, and project managing, high value, complex pieces of litigation with extensive disclosure exercises and contested interim applications such as Graham Martin v Herbert Smith Freehills LLP (a highly contentious professional negligence dispute which attracted significant press and industry attention) and other high profile cases issued in the Competition Appeal Tribunal, including currently acting for Leeds City Council and previously Durham County Council (which included a successful concurrent expedited appeal to the Court of Appeal).

Elinor also has experience of, and regularly leads on, high value disputes relating to potential beaches of post termination restrictive covenants and contentious breach of warranty claims.
