Chris has over a decade of experience supporting clients with all manner of IT procurement work, ranging from strategically important IT outsourcing and digital transformation projects, through to SaaS, systems integration projects, software development and software licence agreements.Chris is also increasingly instructed on projects involving the deployment of cutting edge technologies, particularly AI systems, which require specialist advice on emerging regulations, such as the EU AI Act, and on addressing associated risks and obligations under the contractual terms.
Alongside his IT contract and AI expertise, Chris advises on various aspects of data protection compliance, ranging from data protection impact assessments, overseas data transfers, data sharing/processing agreements, data protection audits, advising on compliance with the principles of the UK GDPR and drafting privacy policies. He therefore possesses a valuable combination of skills and experience which he regularly brings to bear for clients, helping them navigate and mitigate complex legal risks.
Chris has spent time on secondment with a major IT services provider and the Information Commissioner's Office, where he supported the Regulator with its Sandbox Project.
