Non-legal apprenticeships

0921 Working from home 767

If you prefer working whilst learning and are interested in a career in professional services, then why not consider an apprenticeship in one of our business support functions.

Our non-legal apprenticeships are designed to help you enhance your knowledge, skills and behaviours and build a range of skills to support the start of your career within our business support functions.

You'll be working within one of our Central Services divisions (Finance, IT, and Administration support) and study a range of modules via online blended learning and face-to-face sessions, covering topics required to develop the relevant skills in the workplace.

This is a fantastic opportunity for ambitious school/college leavers or people looking for a new career to embark on. You will gain valuable experience and work towards a nationally recognised qualification and get paid at the same time.

What does the Non-Legal Apprenticeship involve?

Non-Legal Apprentices will work in either one of our central support teams (Office Management, Finance or IT) or within a legal team providing dedicated administrative support.

What will I study?

Non-Legal Apprentices will study a range of modules, usually online, covering the topics required by the awarding body such as CIPD, AAT and ACCA.

The most relevant apprenticeship will be selected based on the role you are undertaking. The Level 2 or Level 3 qualification will be offered depending on your current qualifications and scope within the role.

What happens after I finish the Apprenticeship?
We hope that all of our apprentices complete their studies and decide to stay with us. Your exact role on qualification will be determined by the skills and abilities you have shown during the previous apprenticeship and successful completion of your qualification. In advance of completion we will discuss with you where your skills can be best utilised within the business.
What are we looking for?

5 GCSEs (or equivalent) including English and Maths
3 C's (or equivalent) at A level

As well as good academics, you must have excellent communication skills, an eye for detail and the ability to follow instructions and be able to work well as part of a team. You do not need legal work experience to apply, but work and life experience is valuable.

In your application we are keen to see your drive and determination for a career in professional services and a good understanding of our business.

What is the application procedure?

Online application

The first step is to make your application. Follow the instructions detailed for each individual vacancy. If you are required to produce a covering letter as part of your application, please make sure you address the following areas:

  • Why an apprenticeship rather than university
  • Why DWF?
  • The skills and abilities you have that make you an ideal candidate.

Spend time producing your answers and don’t hold back – really sell yourself to us! Pay attention to your grammar and spelling, and don’t always rely on your spell checker!

As we shortlist and recruit on an ongoing basis please submit your application as soon as possible.

Interview

If your application is successful you will be invited for an initial interview. If you are successful at this stage the next step will be a further interview with the team you will be working with.
