DWF announces senior recruits for in-house chambers

04 November 2024
DWF, the global provider of integrated legal and business services, has appointed two senior barristers, Elizabeth Gallagher and George Davies, as directors to its in-house chambers.

Joining from Temple Garden Chambers in London, Elizabeth Gallagher, was called to the Bar in 2014. Elizabeth specialises in personal injury law, fraud and regulatory. She is known for her confident advocacy and her ability to handle sensitive, high-profile matters, including her involvement in the Hillsborough Victims Litigation and the Grenfell Tower Inquiry.

In 2022, Elizabeth was appointed as a Deputy District Judge on the South Eastern Circuit and has previously given evidence at a House of Commons Justice Select Committee on the work of the county court.

George Davies was called to the Bar in 1998 and joins DWF Chambers from 42 Bedford Row in London. George specialises in personal injury, fraud and commercial law. His regulatory work includes financial services disputes (acting for both banks and consumers).

George is an expert in defending personal injury fraud and has been ranked as a Band 2 specialist in Chambers and Partners for the past nine years. He has been acknowledged by the High Court as ‘an experienced advocate’.

The appointments come as DWF Chambers continues to grow and expand its services. In addition to these new hires, DWF Chambers has recently been appointed to the approved panels of two major insurance companies and now comprises 25 advocates.

Dan Monaghan, Director of Clerking & Operations at DWF Chambers, commented, "These appointments represent a real shift in our offering and capability. George and Elizabeth bring a wealth of experience and expertise that will significantly bolster our team. We are now in a stronger position than ever and are in competition with some of the best chambers around."
