Our webinar will cover:
The new employment law landscape
Many of the Employment Rights Act 2025 reforms are now in force or approaching implementation. We will provide an update on the latest position and focus on the practical steps employers should be taking now, from recruitment, onboarding and probation processes to performance management, disciplinary procedures and measures to prevent workplace and third-party harassment. We will also examine the significant trade union reforms and what they mean in practice for all employers, including those that do not currently recognise a trade union, as access rights, duty to inform and industrial relations obligations evolve.
Legislative developments and regulatory change
We will explore other key developments, including the government's equal pay reforms, preparations for the EU Pay Transparency Directive and what it means for UK employers and the ongoing consultation on changes to the Acas Code of Practice on disciplinary and grievance procedures. We will also consider the implications of the EHRC's Code of Practice for Services, Public Functions and Associations, including the continuing focus on single-sex spaces and service provision.
Case law update
A practical review of recent judgments from the courts and tribunals. We will cover key developments including the latest decisions on protected conversations, gender-critical beliefs and competing protected characteristics, together with other cases shaping workplace practices and employer risk.
AI in the workplace
AI is moving from experimentation to business as usual. We will explore how organisations are using AI at work, the key legal and governance risks, and how employers can manage emerging issues including discrimination, employee relations challenges, and AI-related grievances and claims.
What's on the horizon?
We will conclude with a horizon scan of anticipated developments and the direction of travel for employment law, helping employers prepare for the next wave of workplace change.
