Founded at the end of 2023, Extensee aims to become a major player in the drone market—across aerial, maritime, and underwater sectors—by industrialising a certified operator model that is independent from manufacturers and capable of responding to national and European tenders. Extensee’s ambition is to become the first drone airline.
Extensee is already a partner of Airbus, Safran, and the European Defence Agency (EDA). This fundraising will enable the company to finalise its LUC (Light UAS Operator Certificate) certification and support its international expansion.
For several months, the company has been developing particularly alongside the Airbus Group, through its entities Surveycopter and Airbus Helicopters, within the framework of operational or training contracts involving aircraft produced by the European manufacturer.
A finalist in the ADER Challenge (DMAé – Directorate of Aeronautical Maintenance), Extensee has also been involved in projects with the European Defence Agency (EDA).
As part of this transaction, DWF France advised Extensee and its founders, with a team led by Ian Ouaknine, partner, and Lisa Varela, associate.
