DWF welcomes new insurance partner in London

13 January 2025

DWF, the global provider of integrated legal and business services, has announced the appointment of Viran Ram as a new partner joining the Global Risks insurance team focusing on property and related liability.

Viran brings 20 years' experience to his new role at DWF and joins the business after 12 years at Clyde & Co, where he was made partner in 2019. Viran runs a national practice providing cost effective solutions for Insurers on claims of any value. He focuses on policy coverage, subrogated recoveries, and non-injury defence work in property and liability lines, predominantly for London market insurers and also composite insurers.

Commenting on his appointment, Viran said, "I am thrilled to have joined DWF. I look forward to contributing to the business' continued growth and success, collaborating with my new colleagues, building and strengthening relationships with clients, and driving forward initiatives that champion diversity and inclusion within the profession.”

David Abbott, senior partner at DWF, said: "We are delighted to have Viran join the team at DWF. He has built a successful national practice and his expertise in the London market will significantly enhance DWF's capabilities in this area."

Throughout his career, Viran has mentored junior associates, and worked to promote diversity and inclusion. He has been involved in various initiatives aimed at improving ethnic and cultural diversity and increasing social mobility.

The arrival of Viran at DWF follows on from a number of other significant new appointments announced at the end of 2024, building global strength and depth in its insurance capability, including new team hires in Australia, Montreal and Warsaw and Dublin.
