1. Please tell us about your current job role
I’ve been with DWF since May 2022, so a year now. I am a Virtual Support Assistant in the Secretarial/Admin team, and we use database programmes, prepare non-chargeable bundles, and edit documents for Fee Earners, we do this on their behalf so the important documents can be shared with clients as soon as possible.
2. Why did you join DWF?
I’ve been studying law for 5 years with Open University (due to graduate in 2024!) and I was searching for a new legal related role. I saw DWF in a list of Top UK Law Firms and after a bit of further research it was clear to me that DWF are an innovative and insightful business, within which I can thrive.
3. You've attended many learning and development courses, please let us know more about them?
As someone who works from home and hasn't met a lot of my close colleagues in person, I've found courses like 'Power of Networking' and 'Communicating Under Pressure' really beneficial as they give an insight into office life, and the most effective ways to work as part of a team.
There are also a number of personal development courses which focus on improving existing skills such as 'Time Management' and 'Communication Skills', which make me more effective in my current role. As I am working towards becoming a qualified solicitor, I've also found the career progression courses really helpful – it's rare to get such a detailed insight into what a firm is looking for from a trainee!
4. What do you like about working at DWF?
DWF regularly posts articles detailing how much they value a diverse working environment and the steps undertaken throughout DWF to make our internal channels a safe space, which really resonate with me, as I feel comfortable voicing my opinions and feel valued. I also love how welcoming and encouraging my manager and colleagues have been, since I started working at DWF! I've really enjoy working with them, as well as the many fee earners across the business.
