As a Head of Delivery for North America, Walter is passionate about building, developing and empowering individuals and teams globally. He manages and oversees North American engagements covering all Legal Operation's service lines including projects dealing with technology implementation, complex litigation, SEC filing- analysis, regulatory compliance, US and international corporate and property tax developments, lender recovery services and global regulatory horizon scanning.Before joining DWF, Walter served over 15 years as both inside and outside general counsel for various companies managing corporate legal departments, focusing on insurance, financial services, commercial transactions, litigation, regulatory affairs, new business development, acquisitions, and vendor relationships. He has negotiated and drafted the full spectrum of agreements for corporate, commercial, and financial transactions. Additionally, he has extensive experience in governmental affairs and regulatory compliance and coordinating litigation in commercial, claims and property damage.
His areas of expertise include legal operations, commercial transactions, finance, governmental affairs, insurance, regulatory compliance, project and risk management and litigation coordination.
Walter holds a B.A. from Eastern Illinois University and a J.D. from the Illinois Institute of Technology Chicago-Kent College of Law. In his spare time, Walter is an avid youth athletics coach, where he has found experiences and learnings applicable throughout his professional career.
