DWF's Building Safety Regime report explores the far-reaching impact of the cladding crisis and new Building Safety Bill and reveals the challenges and opportunities for the construction industry. Read more about our key findings.

Building safety in the UK is at the forefront of political, media and public attention, but its future is subject to intense scrutiny and debate by industry experts.

Following the proposed Building Safety Bill being submitted for consultation in July 2021, it is clear that there are concerns across the industry about whether the new regime goes far enough to tackle the problems that exist within the current cladding crisis, the future of building safety and the many issues for owners and tenants of existing buildings.

What does the industry think about the cladding crisis and Building Safety Bill?

DWF hosted a series of roundtable discussions, surveys and interviews with professionals, industry leaders, institutions and organisations across the construction industry to explore the reasons behind the cladding crisis, how the industry has dealt with this in the aftermath of the Grenfell Tower tragedy and the future of building safety in the UK.

In this report we share the views of those who took part in the research and reveal a snapshot of industry sentiment, including specific feedback on the key points in the draft Building Safety Bill and key areas of uncertainty.
