DWF launches Indemnity Spend Controller in Verisk’s environment to transform claims decision-making

02 December 2025

DWF, a leading global provider of integrated legal and business services, is proud to announce the launch of its proprietary Indemnity Spend Controller (ISC) within Verisk’s technology ecosystem.

This milestone marks a significant step in the strategic collaboration between DWF and Verisk, aimed at delivering smarter, data-driven solutions to the insurance industry.

The Indemnity Spend Controller is a digital decision-support tool designed to help claims handlers make more consistent and cost-effective settlement decisions. By surfacing the economic tipping point of a claim, ISC empowers users to act with greater confidence and transparency under the constraints of the extended Fixed Recoverable Costs regime.

Simon Murray, Head of Insurance Digital and Business Services at DWF, commented: “The Indemnity Spend Controller is the result of collaboration between legal and data science teams. It’s designed to guide claims handlers—at the point of decision—with real-time insights into the cost implications of settlement timing and strategy. By embedding ISC into Verisk’s environment, we’re enabling insurers to make smarter decisions, faster, and with greater consistency across their portfolios of claims.”

Chris Sawford, Managing Director of Verisk UK, added: “Working with DWF allows us to combine our insurance sector digital tools with their extensive legal expertise to offer clients a truly comprehensive service. ISC is a prime example of how our collaboration can drive proven reductions in indemnity spend while improving operational efficiency and customer outcomes.” ISC is now available to all Verisk clients via their platform. Future tools from the collaboration are planned in early 2026.

The launch follows extensive testing and stakeholder engagement, including joint workshops, legal reviews, and client feedback sessions. ISC is now available to all Verisk clients via their platform.
