Improving access to the legal profession for a decade: PRIME Commitment 2021 conference

This year marks the 10th anniversary of PRIME Commitment, an alliance of law firms across the UK and Republic of Ireland created to improve socio-economic diversity within the legal profession.  

DWF is proud to be part of this transformational collaboration of 60 member firms and 26 partners. On average, 742 students a year go through PRIME work experience programmes and PRIME’s members have delivered over 12,000 weeks of work experience since launch. 

Advancing social mobility is an important part of our talent agenda at DWF. As a global business it is important we attract the best and most diverse talent in order to meet the needs of our clients and grow our business. We launched our flagship school engagement programme, 5 STAR Futures to coincide with our involvement in Prime, back in 2012 and are proud to have increased our involvement over the years as both a Prime Board Member and representative on their Working Group Cold Spot project. 

DWF's CSR Director and Prime Board Member Ty Jones says: " We want to encourage the legal sector to make the Prime Commitment and together stop social background predicting a young person’s success by extending opportunities to talented young people from all backgrounds. Joining us at the conference creates the opportunity to find out about the making the Prime Commitment, to meet our supporters and to hear from organisations working to increase social mobility in the profession including Aspiring Solicitors, the Bridge Group, MyKindaFuture, Rare Recruitment, the Social Mobility Foundation and The Sutton Trust."
