DWF appoints new banking partner in London

09 September 2025

DWF, the global provider of integrated legal and business services, has appointed Don Brown as a new banking partner in its finance and restructuring team in London.

Don brings two decades of experience advising on complex banking and finance matters, with a particular focus on asset-based lending (ABL), receivables finance, speciality finance, asset finance and trade finance. He acts for both lenders and borrowers on a broad range of bilateral and syndicated transactions, cross-border facilities, supply chain finance and structured finance arrangements.

Don joins DWF from Stephenson Harwood and previously held senior in-house positions at GE Capital Bank, GMAC Financial Services and Swiss Re Capital Markets. His in-house experience has given him a deep understanding of what clients expect from external advisers and how to deliver pragmatic, commercial solutions.

Commenting on his new appointment, Don said: "I am delighted to be joining DWF at such an exciting time in the firm’s growth. DWF’s scale and international reach present a fantastic opportunity to further develop my practice and support clients across a broad range of financing needs. I look forward to working with colleagues across the firm to grow DWF’s banking and finance capability and to help clients achieve their strategic goals."

Iain Shurwood, global head of finance and restructuring at DWF, added: "We are very pleased to welcome Don to DWF. His expertise in asset-based lending and speciality finance, combined with his extensive client relationships and strong market profile, will be a valuable addition to our finance and restructuring team. His appointment reflects our continued commitment to investing in areas where we see strong client demand and growth potential."
