DWF routinely marks Ramadan by providing extended space for prayer and reflection at its office locations and sharing information on the support and flexibility available to colleagues who are fasting as well as providing awareness raising information to help all colleagues understand how they can support team members who are observing Ramadan. The aim is to help colleagues observing Ramadan to continue to thrive as well as educating and engaging the wider workforce on what Ramadan is, fostering a culture of inclusivity and respect.
In 2025 members of the DWF Race and Ethnicity Network wanted to share deeper insight with the global organisation.
A Ramadan working group made up of Race & Ethnicity network members led by Associate, Hasin Tariq Amin, with assistance from Paralegal Apprentice, Adam Kazi, created a number of new initiatives:
A curated weekly blog series where global colleagues shared their experiences of Ramadan in the morning, afternoon, evening and night. The blogs include information on Ramadan and Eid, terminology and customs, and Ramadan in the workplace. Click on the links below to read the blogs:

These initiatives align closely with DWF's diversity and inclusion goals, particularly regarding ethnic diversity and colleague wellbeing. DWF's Global Diversity & Inclusion Strategy focuses on creating a working environment where colleagues of all backgrounds can contribute at their highest level and where their differences positively impact the organisation.
We would like to thank the Race & Ethnicity Network for their hard work in creating these initiatives and gives special thanks to Hasin Amin and Adam Kazi for leading the initiatives and for the personal contributions of Ranya Al Hashimi, Sagar Moughal, Catherine Haslam, Oliwia Szukal, Mona Nooreyezdan and Iffat Hussain.
DWF Director and Senior Lead of the Race and Ethnicity Network Neville Sampson said, 'I am so proud of the initiatives undertaken by the Race and Ethnicity network. They demonstrate our organisational commitment to diversity, inclusion, and colleague wellbeing. These efforts not only support Muslim colleagues during Ramadan but also continue to promote a culture of empathy, respect, and solidarity across the organisation.'
