DWF strengthens its tax practice in Paris with the arrival of a new partner

22 January 2024
DWF, the global provider of integrated legal and business services, announces the arrival of Jordan Serfati as a partner in the tax department.

Established in Paris since 2017, DWF is continuing to develop its activities in France with the arrival of Jordan Serfati, who will take charge of the Paris office's tax practice. With 16 partners, DWF offers a comprehensive range of services to its clients , including strong transactional expertise (mergers and acquisitions, corporate finance, private equity, real estate, etc.), where tax issues are numerous.

With over 11 years' experience, Jordan Serfati advises on all aspects of French and international tax, with a particular focus on transactional taxation: mergers and acquisitions, private equity, real estate transactions and debt restructuring. He is also regularly involved in tax audits and litigation. Jordan advises a wide range of clients, including listed and unlisted companies, investment funds, real estate investors and company directors.

Jordan Serfati joins DWF's Paris office after starting his career in 2012 with EY Société d'Avocats. He then joined Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer's tax team in 2016.

As part of DWF, Jordan will head up the tax practice in the Paris office, with the aim of accelerating its development by providing a comprehensive tax service offering, working closely with the firm's other expertise in Paris, as well as with the tax teams in DWF's other offices.

Jean-François Mercadier, Managing Partner of DWF in France, added: "Jordan's arrival reflects our commitment to providing a comprehensive transactional offering, including a leading tax practice, in our Paris office to better meet our clients' aspirations. With his high quality transactional tax expertise and in-depth knowledge of complex international transactions, Jordan will play a central role in the implementation of our strategy."

Jordan Serfati, Partner at DWF in France, comments: "I am particularly excited about joining DWF to take on and develop the tax practice. In addition to its international dimension, the firm has first-rate transactional skills in Paris, in M&A as well as in finance and real estate. These assets, coupled with the firm's ambitions for growth in the French market, were the main reasons for my decision to join DWF."

Jon Stevens, Global Head of Tax & Private Capital and Partner at DWF, adds: "Today's businesses have to operate in a tax landscape that is becoming increasingly complex under the influence of new regulations, including at European level. To meet our clients' challenges, DWF has an international advisory strategy, with strong tax expertise in each of its offices. It is against this backdrop that we are delighted to welcome Jordan Serfati, who, with his wealth of experience, is taking over as head of the tax department in Paris."
