Jon Seymour is the Global Head of Contracts in the Legal Operations division of DWF. Based in Birmingham, Jon works closely with his legal advisory, technology and consulting colleagues to build high quality, cost effective end-to-end contracts management solutions for clients.
His team deliver managed legal services enabled by long-term expertise in legal transformation, process excellence and technology including contract lifecycle management.
Prior to DWF, Jon was a Director and transformation leader at Barclays. He was in the bank for almost two decades in various legal roles. These included:
- Head of the Transaction & Advisory Legal Service, a centre of excellence he led to foster transformation across the Barclays legal function.
- Head of the Central legal Team, a team he created to ensure that legal work in Barclays is delivered by the right colleagues in the right way.
A qualified lawyer for over 20 years, Jon began his legal career at DLA Piper, where he was an M&A and private equity lawyer. His practice at Barclays has since spanned both commercial and regulatory law.
Jon's time at Barclays gave him long term expertise leading legal transformation in a complex financial services organisation. He was a regular consumer of transformation services from law firms, ALSPs and the big 4.
His legal transformation expertise is broad. It includes building centralised legal teams following target operation model reviews, implementing manged legal services and legal technology, including contract lifecycle management, as well as driving continuous improvement.
He has a keen eye for innovation and delivering legal services in the most efficient and effective way possible.
He is an experienced senior leader, having created, built and led various high-performance teams delivering a broad range of legal services across multiple jurisdictions. Jon is also passionate about supporting personal development, broadening diversity and driving positive cultural change, in particular around innovation.
This is supplemented by long term commercial, corporate and regulatory legal and governance experience.
