Jewels is a Partner, and Head of our Injury Validation Unit, a causation team, which is especially known for her expertise in identifying and defending farmed claims as well as causation on exaggerated injury claims Jewels works closely with insurance mainstream and fraud clients in disrupting bad behaviours post OIC and is market leading in her industry firsts for tackling causation and bad behaviour within the OIC and post Reforms. Jewels qualified in South Africa in 1997 and has practised at DWF for 20 years.
In addition to the above, Jewels is actively involved in Community and D&I and has been an active ally for nearly 40 years. She sits on the NSPCC Corporate Board for the Merseyside area, was Chair of the BITC Preston, is a member of the Corporate Social Responsibility Committee and a Trustee of the DWF Charity Foundation since inception, heading the Fundraising Committee. In addition, Jewels is member of the DWF Diversity & Inclusion Global Leadership Committee and started and leads our DWF Menopause Group. Jewels regularly arranges events and sessions for fundraising and D&I awareness.Jewels won DWF's Community Impact Award at DWF's inaugural Rubie Awards and was awarded Role Model Of The Year at the 2023 Women In Insurance Awards.
