Sustainability

Green plants on grey building

We believe a responsible business is a healthy business and the prosperity of business and society is closely connected. Our ambition is to make DWF a world leader at responsible business, mobilising our collective strength and strategic commitments to place creating healthy communities and a healthy environment at the centre of our strategy to achieve long-term value and have a positive impact on society. As a purpose-led organisation, how we do business is just as important to us as what we do, and our integrity is central to all we are and how we wish to be seen.

Our Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) strategy allows every person within the business globally to take account and contribute to delivering on our targets. When joining DWF, colleagues select and define two ESG objectives as part of their commitment and contribution to delivering our strategy and making a difference.

Everyone has a part to play

    Sustainability Training

We are developing sustainability training for all our colleagues so that everyone understands what ESG is, how it impacts them in their role and what our strategy means in practice. We feel it is important that our colleagues are fully engaged in sustainability at every stage of their career.
  • Colleague Incentives

    Colleague Incentives

We continually look at ways to engage our colleagues to become more sustainable, both in work and in their personal lives. During 2021/22 we ran a pilot with PawPrint which allowed our colleagues to measure their carbon footprint in their everyday lives with the person/team saving the most carbon receiving additional achiever points. We always welcome new incentives from our colleagues and encourage each other to share ideas.
  • Excellence

    Excellence

As we aspire to be the leading global provider of integrated legal and business services, excellence must be at the centre of everything we do.

Our people are each accountable for the role they play, and we want everyone to have the confidence to ask questions, ask for help, and raise concerns about important issues with the confidence their voice will be heard.

Our approach to excellence creates a collaborative and inclusive culture that underpins our decisions, with Diversity & Inclusion and Dignity at Work policies that make it clear we have zero-tolerance for discrimination of any kind.

    Speak Up

All colleagues at DWF have the right to work in an environment where they can implicitly trust their colleagues to behave in an appropriate way. We take pride in providing a culture that supports and empowers colleagues to speak up when they encounter unethical behaviour and it’s a subject on which our senior management team lead from the front.

Our Speak Up policy is one of our many responsible business policies that reflect our dedication to doing business in a fair, transparent, and inclusive way. We are committed to maintaining an open culture with the highest standards of honesty and accountability, where colleagues can be confident of reporting legitimate concerns without fear of repercussions.
