As part of this partnership, Trina Storage will invest in the new GS EU Fund, Gore Street Capital’s third investment fund dedicated to battery energy storage systems (BESS). The fund has been established to acquire, develop, construct and operate a portfolio of electricity storage projects across the European Union, with a target deployment of more than 12 GWh of storage capacity and an overall target size of up to approximately €1 billion. The fund brings together leading institutional investors, including the European Investment Fund and the Irish Strategic Investment Fund.
Beyond its financial contribution, Trina Storage will support the fund with its technological expertise, engineering capabilities and industrial know-how, particularly in the design and supply of large-scale BESS projects. Gore Street Capital, which currently manages approximately 1.4 GW of BESS assets across several dedicated funds, will oversee the development and operation of the projects. [Initial commissioning is expected from late 2026 onwards.]
The DWF legal team advising Trina Storage was led by Carole Arribes, Corporate Partner at DWF France, under the direction of Marco Licata, Head of Legal Europe & Latin America at Trina Solar, with Luxembourg law support provided by Etienne de Crépy of STRELIA.
