International Women's Day (IWD) has been around for over a hundred years, as have many of the issues that still impact women's advancement. Since 1911, IWD belongs to all who care about women's equality, recognise women's achievements and raise awareness about discrimination. Celebrated annually on 8th March, it is an occasion to mark women's lives and contributions to society and the community.
In recognition of this day, we invite you to join our walking tour focused around this theme. The walk promises to be an important and thought-provoking experience - you will hear about inspiring and pioneering women from Liverpool who have had an influence on the history, heritage and culture of not just Liverpool but further afield too. The tour will start with a visit inside the Anglican Cathedral, and then will take in many locations that played an important role in social, medical, and cultural changes from the 1800s to the modern day.
Spaces are limited so please register your interest below.
