He previously managed a team of solicitors handling cross border claims for a major European insurance group. His main area of focus is on large loss and catastrophic claims with jurisdiction and/or applicable law issues. He regularly presents and provides training on this area for insurer clients.
Alastair has an extensive knowledge of cross border and travel claims, including challenges to jurisdiction, applicable law and insurance indemnity issues. He has dealt with a wide variety of claims such as defective products, motor claims, skiing and snowboarding accidents and public liability claims including claims for injuries arising out of accidents as diverse as a defective luge ride, injury by beach buggy, a water slide with insufficient water, a ski jump competition that ended in injury and defective premises overseas.
He also has a particular interest in claims against employers arising out of injuries to employees working overseas.
