Dhruv Chhatralia BEM featured in the Business Law Journal's International A-List 2026

17 April 2026
DWF are pleased to announce that Dhruv Chhatralia BEM has been featured in the India Business Law Journal’s (IBLJ) International A-list 2026.

The International A-List features the world’s top-tier international lawyers outside India, based on recommendations by general counsels and lawyers at Indian law firms, for their work on cross-border aspects of India-related matters.

The IBLJ has quoted as follows:

“Dhruv Chhatralia, partner and head of the India group at DWF in London, is recognised by Mumbai-based senior JSA consultant Aashit Shah, and Gautam Bhatikar, Mumbai-based partner of Phoenix Legal. Shah praises Chhatralia for building a “fantastic India practice group” of more than 100 lawyers, and being highly active in the corporate and venture capital space, while Bhatikar observes Chhatralia stands out as “one of the leading lawyers for India work.”

The annual report, now in its 20th year, draws on the IBLJ’s analysis of lawyers at more than 600 law firms worldwide whose deals and disputes within the past 12 months have an Indian component.

This is the third year running where Dhruv has featured in the International A-List after also being listed in 2024 and 2025.

According to the IBLJ, "to be designated an International A-List lawyer requires a strong grasp of the intricacies of India’s corporate landscape and the needs of Indian clients, as well as extensive connections within the Indian legal community."

Dhruv is a Partner (Corporate) and Head of Venture Capital (UK) at DWF specialising in venture capital transactions, private equity transactions, mergers and acquisitions, corporate finance, joint ventures, group re-organisations and also other areas of corporate law.

He works on both domestic and cross-border transactions representing corporates, private equity houses, venture capital houses, financial institutions and high net-worth individuals, particularly in the Technology, Media and Telecommunications, Financial Services and Insurance sectors. His practice is both domestic and international in nature and the transactions he advises on include a variety of complex and high value transactions across diverse industries.

Dhruv is also the Head of DWF's India Group, which is the largest India group of any law firm based outside India with 115 lawyers in 9 jurisdictions, 16 practice areas and 9 sector groups. DWF was shortlisted for the award of “Legal Practice of the Year” at the 6th Annual UK-India Awards in 2024 based on the achievements of the DWF India Group headed by Dhruv.  DWF was also ranked as an international firm to watch by the IBLJ in 2025. Dhruv advises Indian companies, financial institutions and high net worth individuals and families on a wide range of cross border transactions including mergers, acquisitions, disposals and investments in the UK.

Commenting on the recognition, Dhruv Chhatralia BEM said “I am honoured to be recognised again by India Business Law Journal and particularly grateful to the clients and peers whose recommendations underpin this acknowledgement. It reflects the trust Indian businesses place in our cross‑border expertise and the strength of the relationships we have built over many years.  This recognition is a real testament to the depth, commitment and collaboration of the DWF India Group. I am proud of what our team across nine jurisdictions continues to deliver for Indian clients navigating complex international transactions.".
